Itinerary
Day 1: Drive to Shillong. (3-4 hours approx.)Upon arrival at Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport OR Guwahati railway station, board your vehicle as we drive you to Shillong, the state capital of Meghalaya. AKA Scotland of the east, as the civilisation here resembles rolling hills of Scotland. En-route, visit the beautiful Umiam lake AKA Barapani Lake, a major tourist attraction located just before entering Shillong. After a picturesque drive (4-5 hrs approx.), check in to your hotel & relax. Overnight at Shillong. |
Day 2: Shillong City TourAfter a leisurely breakfast, get ready for city tour of Shillong. Places covered will be: Ward’s Lake, Botanical Garden, Lady Hydari Park, 18 hole Golf Course, The State Museum, Elephant Falls & Shillong Peak. Later in the evening, take a stroll at Police Bazar for some local shopping. Overnight at Shillong. |
Day 3: Excursion to CherrapunjeeAfter an early morning breakfast, we will take you to Shillong peak to get a bird’s eye view of the entire city of Shillong and then visit Elephant falls. These are multi-tiered falls with very beautiful surroundings. Later, we drive to Cherrapunjee, the record holder of the world’s wettest place once. En-route, experience the beautiful rolling hills, the flora and the waterfalls, most importantly the Nohkalikai fall, waterfall which falls from a height of over a 1000 ft. & the highest in India. Also visit, Seven Sisters Falls, a seven segmented waterfall. Also, you may visit the famous double decker living root bridge& rainbow falls. Later, drive back to Shillong. Overnight at Shillong. |
Day 4: Drive to GuwahatiAfter breakfast, check out from your hotel as we drive to Guwahati. Upon arrival at Guwahati check-in at your pre-booked hotel & freshen up. Later, take a ride of alfresco cruise (charges extra). This famous sunset cruise starts at approximately 4:30 Pm (subject to operation, water level in the river & weather condition). Enjoy the sunset ride & later explore the local market. Overnight at Guwahati. |
Day 5: DepartureAfter breakfast, check out from your hotel and drive to Guwahati airport/ railway station to catch your flight / train for your onwards journey. |
