Itinerary


    DAY 1 ARRIVE NAIROBI 

    Upon your arrival at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be met by and transferred to your Nairobi hotel for check in. Depending on your arrival time you might opt to enjoy a Nairobi excursion and experience the beautiful city of Nairobi by the day and end with an optional dinner at the Carnivore Restaurant or a Similar Restaurant at or close to your hotel.

     Overnight at a Nairobi Hotel 


    DAY 2 NAIROBI – MAASAI MARA NATIONAL RESERVE

    Leaving Nairobi after breakfast, you travel towards Kenya's fertile highlands and head down the rift escarpment on the road built by Italian prisoners of war during World War II. On the way spot the charming chapel built at the foot of the escarpment. Pass the impressive Longonot earth satellite station as you head across the valley to Narok; continue your travels across acres of wheat and barley, before reaching the Masai Mara in time for lunch. After lunch set off on your first game drive, returning to the lodge as the sun sets. 

    Dinner and overnight at Mara Serena Lodge.


    DAY 3 MAASAI MARA NATIONAL RESERVE

    Following an early breakfast, depart on a morning game drive, returning to the camp mid-morning. After lunch, and perhaps a siesta, set off on another game drive returning to the lodge as the sunsets. This day you have an opportunity of having an extra and optional activities like booking a hot air balloon and to enjoy a game drive over the Mara plain land on a balloon early morning as the animals set for hunting or experience the great migration in the case of tours booked during the migration period, or a visit to one of the Maasai villages in the park and learn a thing or two about the Maasai and the ancient Kenyan culture.

     All meals and overnight at Mara Serena Lodge.


    DAY 4 MAASAI MARA – LAKE NAKURU NATIONAL PARK

    Leaving the Masai Mara after breakfast travel across the ‘breadbasket’ of Kenya, where acres of wheat and barley litter the landscape as you head north to Narok, the district headquarters of this part of Maasai land. Now travel across the vast plains on the floor of the Rift Valley, keeping an eye out for herds of giraffe and gazelle as you head up the Mai -Mahiu, before arriving at Lake Nakuru around midday.  Once in the park, view game en route to the lodge. Following lunch and a siesta, there is an afternoon game drive returning to the lodge as the sun sets. The national park, known for its birdlife, offers a possibility to view flamingoes.  It is also home to Black and White rhinos as well as the endangered Rothschild Giraffe. 

    Dinner and overnight at Sarova Lion Hill Lodge. 


    DAY 5 LAKE MANYARA NAKURU – AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK

    Following an early breakfast, leaving Lake Nakuru behind, you continue towards Nairobi and then head south towards Amboseli stopping for a picnic lunch en route. On arrival, there is game viewing en route to the lodge, arriving as the sun sets. Dinner and overnight at Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge. 

     

    DAY 6 AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK

    Set against the magnificent backdrop of Africa's highest mountain, the glittering Mount Kilimanjaro, Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge enjoys a uniquely privileged position at the heart of this world-famous national park. Secluded within a grove of acacia trees, the lodge looks out over the golden savannah plains, with uninterrupted views of the mountain itself. Close by are a series of emerald green swamps, which are fed by the melting snows of Kilimanjaro. As the only sources of water in the park, this attracts huge numbers of wallowing elephants, hippos, buffalos and plains game. Meanwhile, from the prehistoric site of Observation Hill, the sunset over Kilimanjaro is truly magnificent. 

    This day will be spent in the park with a full day game drive to enjoy all the beauty that this magnificent park has to offer.

    DAY 7 AMBOSELI – TSAVO WEST

    Following a morning game drive the rest of the morning is at leisure followed by lunch at the lodge.  Following Lunch, depart to Tsavo West.  The journey takes you east, across the spectacular Shetani lava flow, a reminder of the molten outpouring that spilled down the scenic slopes of the nearby Chyulu Hills over the last three centuries. A zig-zagging road through scrub thorn and acacia leads you into Tsavo National Park, which together (East and West) form the largest of Kenya’s parks.  On arrival, enjoy game-viewing en route to your lodge arrive at your lodge as the sun sets. 

    DAY 8 TSAVO WEST – TSAVO EAST

    This morning enjoy a game drive in the park, including a visit to Mzima Springs with its underwater viewing holes. Following lunch at the lodge, continue to Taita Hills Game Sanctuary for rest of the afternoon at leisure, viewing the game from lodge’s underground hide or from the lodge balconies. 

    Overnight at Sarova Saltlick Game Lodge.

     


    DAY 9 TSAVO - DEPART

    Breakfast at the lodge and check out. This day you might decide to extend your trip to the Kenyan Beach, either to the Northern or the Southern Coast, or you might decide to head back to Nairobi in the early morning for your late departure flight or an overnight stay at a Nairobi hotel.

DAY 1 ARRIVE NAIROBI 

Upon your arrival at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be met by and transferred to your Nairobi hotel for check in. After lunch, and perhaps a siesta, set off on another game drive returning to the lodge as the sunsets. This day you have an opportunity of having an extra and optional activities like booking a hot air balloon and to enjoy a game drive over the Mara plain land on a balloon early morning as the animals set for hunting or experience the great migration in the case of tours booked during the migration period, or a visit to one of the Maasai villages in the park and learn a thing or two about the Maasai and the ancient Kenyan culture.

 All meals and overnight at Mara Serena Lodge.


DAY 4 MAASAI MARA – LAKE NAKURU NATIONAL PARK
